Uhmwpe Wear Strips/Profiles
uhmwpe is an exceptional profile material for high impact, wear and sliding applications and will perform under the most extreme conditions of wear and environment. It has the best impact strength of any modern thermoplastic, is highly resistant to abrasion and has a very low co-efficient of friction. It absorbs virtually no water, which enables it to be used in high
moisture environments. uhmwpe also meets FDA requirements for food contact, is self-lubricating and has very good sound dampening properties.
uhmwpe wear strips are used in sliding applications where metal-to-metal contact causes friction or abrasion wear. They can be planed, drilled, slotted or bevelled, and are extruded in a wide variety of profiles to suit individual applications. U-channels are primarily used for under-chain wear guides or cable tracks; right-angled profiles are used as chain guides to reduce wear and power needs. Other thermoplastics are available for profile extrusions.
